It is 2017, and a moment of synchronicity for our four co-founders. Steffen Vogt has just moved to Munich, looking to connect with the local business community. Romas Stukenberg has just finished his executive leadership programme at THNK School of Creative Leadership in Amsterdam. And Mercedes Hoss and Christof Weis are keen to host stories beyond the ordinary at their event space, Cokrea in downtown Munich. A chance encounter between Steffen and Mercedes is all it takes to bring everyone together. Soon after, we are sending out invitation for Salon N°0.

Our focus ever since has been to explore how business and society relate, and how they might do so fruitfully. The Creative Leadership Salon is an ode to people who act upon societal urgencies and find beautiful solutions to messy problems: those who lead schools built on humanistic principles, build circular jewellery companies, develop quantum computing at global scale, sue states to hold them accountable for climate action, or use philosophy to transform organisational culture.

While our spectrum of voices and topics becomes ever more diverse, our ingredients have stayed the same, like a family recipe: excellent wine and bread, a piece of cheese brought by every participant, no screens, a minimally facilitated format, no more than thirty people in the room. All intended to spark deep, open-ended conversation.

This mix of stable principles and open space is what we keep returning to. And we are as curious as in 2017 about where it leads next.
